Owls swoop for striker

Sheffield Wednesday have eased their striker shortage with the signing of Rochdale striker Chris O'Grady.

The former Leicester and Rotherham frontman has signed a three-year deal at Hillsborough and arrives for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £300,000.

He netted 57 goals in more than 200 appearances for Dale and had attracted interest from both League One and Championship clubs.

Owls manager Gary Megson said: "Chris' name was one of those on the list that I handed to [chairman] Milan at the end of last season so I am really pleased that we have signed him"
