Preston sack Brown

Preston have sacked manager Phil Brown.

He departs from Deepdale just before the first anniverary of his appointment.

The 52-year-old Tyneside-born boss failed to save Preston from the drop after his appointment in January this year.

The former Bolton, Derby and Hull gaffer has seen his side struggle this term and they have won just once in the last 16 games.

Veteran player Graham Alexander and first team coach David Unsworth have been put in temporary charge.
