Rovers appoint McGhee

Mark McGhee is the new manager of Bristol Rovers.

The 54-year-old takes over a side struggling at the foot of League Two having been out of work since leaving Aberdeen just over a year ago.

McGhee, who has also had spells in charge of Reading, Leicester, Wolves, Millwall and Brighton, has agreed a two and a half year deal.

He takes over from Paul Buckle was was sacked by the club earlier this month.

As a player, McGhee was a striker for Scotland, Newcastle United, Aberdeen, Hamburg, Celtic and Reading.
