Solano joins Hartlepool

Peru winger Nobby Solano has agreed to join League One Hartlepool.

The former Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham star turned down the chance to stay at Hull to move back to the north east.

Solano, 36, enjoys cult status at Newcastle and with his country and still has strong ties to the region.

Pools have also persuaded striker James Brown to agree a new deal.
