Southend back on top

Paul Sturrock's Southend United are back at the top of League Two after a 2-1 victory at Gillingham.

The Shrimpers regained top spot from Cheltenham on goal difference.

United took the lead through Liam Dickinson and within 30 minutes were 2-0 thanks to an own goal deflected in by Joe Martin.

Gavin Tomlin grabbed one back near the death but the victory ended United's run of three defeats in four games.
