Oxford United finally got their man on deadline day, taking unhappy striker Tom Craddock from Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.

The Us have been linked with Craddock for a while now, but after rumours that Luton had turned down a £275,000 offer from Crawley Town, the move seemed unlikely.

However, Wilder has pulled off another coup and last season's 24-goal hit-man will be hoping to turn Oxford’s fortunes around up-front – having failed to score in four games.

Wilder also moved to take Doncaster Rovers’ Josh Payne on a one-month loan. The central midfielder was released by West Ham in the summer and quickly snapped up by Rovers. The Championship club are keen for the 19-year-old to gain some first-team experience and Wilder gave him his first start in tonight’s 2-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy loss to Aldershot.

Both players are likely to feature in this weekend’s home league game against Morecambe, where United will look to secure their first league win of the campaign.
