Heskey quits
Thursday, 15/07/2010
Emile Heskey has called it a day with England.
The Aston Villa hit-man, linked with a return to Wigan, has made the 2010 World Cup Finals his last games for his country.
Former Liverpool, Birmingham and Leicester frontman Heskey, 32, has won 62 caps but scored just seven goals for the Three Lions since making his international debut way back in 1999.
He said: "I have enjoyed every minute of my England career and worn the shirt with pride."
Heskey cost £11m when he moved to Liverpool from Leicester in 2000. Villa paid £3.5 for him in January 2009.
