Ireland boss quits
Monday, 10/10/2011
Nigel Worthington is quitting as boss of Northern Ireland.
The manager has announced he still step down following tomorrow's game against Italy.
He has been gaffer for four and a half years but says it is time to give someone else a chance.
The former Blackpool, Norwich and Leicester manager took over the team in June 2007 but has failed to guide them to the finals of either Euro 2008 or 2012.
He said: "I feel it is only right to give the Association and players the opportunity and time to move forward and that is why I have decided that Tuesday night’s game will be my last in charge."
