Villa breaks leg

Spain striker David Villa has broken his leg.

The Barcelona frontman now faces a lengthy spell out after suffering the injury in the Club World Cup semi-final against Al Sadd in Yokohama.

The 30-year-old World Cup-winning striker has broken his left tibia.

Villa, a £34m buy from Valencia last year, is his country's record scorer with 50 goals in 81 appearances.

The player, who had recenlty been linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool, is facing six months out of the game.
