Anelka can go

Striker Nicolas Anelka will be leaving Chelsea in January.

The Blues have granted his wish to leave Stamford Bridge - and have also said that defender Alex can depart.

Anelka has also admitted: "I've known for a little while where I'll be on January 2."

There has been strong speculation that the France hitman would return to former club Paris Saint Germain but he has also allegedly held talks with Montreal Impact.

Brazil defender Alex, 29, has also been granted a transfer. He was linked with both Arsenal and Bayern Munich last summer.
