Arsenal face transfer merry-go-round
Monday, 10/10/2011
Arsenal face another round of transfers in January with players arriving and leaving.
With reports that Manchester City could return to the Emirates Stadium for striker Robin van Persie to join former Gunners midfielder Samir Nasri in the north west, expect a new frontman to be on the cards.
That could be Chelsea hit-man Salomon Kalou who Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has attempted to sign in the past. The Ivory Coast striker is not a regular starter at Stamford Bridge and a decent bid could tempt the Blues to sell.
Kalou, who has expressed his admiration of Wenger in the past, would go for free next summer if he does not agree a new contract.
Meanwhile, mega-rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are said to want Gunners striker Andrey Arshavin - despite the 30-year-old agreeing a big pay rise recently. He is under contract to 2013 but Wenger could be tempted to sell his inconsistent star.
