AVB wants Cech mate

Andre Villas-Boas wants keeper Petr Cech to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues boss plans to hand a long-term contract offer to the Czech Republic shot-stopper.

Cech, 29, is one of the top keepers in the Premier League but has just 18 months left on his current Chelsea deal.

The 6ft 5in giant joined Chelsea from Rennes in a £7m deal in 2004 and has played a key role in their success over the past few years.

AVB admitted: "We haven't opened official talks yet but he knows there is an interest in renewing his deal."
