Beckham, Giggs, Scholes!
Tuesday, 17/01/2012
Three of Manchester United's most famous players could be reunited for Team GB at this year's Olympics.
David Beckham and Ryan Giggs have put themselves forward for Stuart Pearce's side.
And bookies are offering short odds on Paul Scholes - now out of retirement - could line up with the other two.
Pearce and the FA wrote to 191 players asking if they would be interested in joining Team GB.
One Englishman has turned down the chance and a further six from all of the Home Nations have rejected the opportunity to play.
Giggs, 38, Beckham, 36 and Scholes, 37, could only be included a part of the three over-age players allowed. Other players must be under 23.
Beckham, expected to agree a new deal with LA Galaxy, is understood to have asked for a special clause that would allow him to take part in the London games.
