Beckham injury worry

David Beckham has been injured playing for AC Milan.

Initial reports from Italy suggest he has a broken Achilles tendon - and that could rule him out of England World Cup squad.

The injury happened near the end of Milan's 1-0 victory against Chievo. The 34-year-old hobbled around the pitch before collapsing to the pitch and needed treatment.

The former England captain had re-stablished himself as a vital member of Fabio Capello's squad, and was expected to get a call-up, even if only to add experience to the squad and offer impact from the bench. Eight years ago he suffered a broken metatarsal before Japan and Korea and only just made the finals.
