Berbatov stays!
Saturday, 31/12/2011
Sir Alex Ferguson says he is ready to keep Dimitar Berbatov at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United manager is to take up the one-year option on the Bulgaria striker's contract.
There were suggestions the hitman could move this January before falling out of contract next summer when he could then leave on a free.
But Fergie, celebrating his 70th birthday, said: "We have an option which we will be exercising."
Berba, who cost £30m from Spurs in 2008 has found his chances limited this season but has still hit six goals, including a hat-trick against Wigan.
Last season he was the Premier League's top scorer.
Even if Berbatov signs the new deal there is no guarantee he would stay at United after the summer – although he could then be sold for a significant fee.

i think still have welbeck and henandez on the bench and berbatov and rooney on the pitch just like old times. berbatov is a really really good player and has bin in good form lately like scoring a hat-trick against wigan and scoring two against blackburn the only 2. hes 1 of thoes players who dosent play normally like rooney and welbeck but when he gets his change he makes a huge impact on the game and half of the wins man utd have had was because of berbatov
