Bosses depart
Friday, 09/10/2009
Tranmere have sacked manager John Barnes after a terrible start to the season that has left them third from bottom of League One.
The former Liverpool and England midfielder (pictured), who had been in charge of Jamaica, also had an unsuccessful spell in charge of Celtic, where he was also dismissed.
Meanwhile, former England Under-21 boss Peter Taylor (featured in this month’s magazine) has departed from fellow League One strugglers Wycombe by mutual consent.
Taylor led Wycombe to promotion last year after his first season in charge. They are currently second bottom. It is understood he was unhappy with some behind the scenes working at the club.
