Cabaye charged
Monday, 30/01/2012
Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye is the latest player to be hit by a retro charge by the FA.
Cabaye escaped punishment following an incident in the FA Cup game at Brighton where he appeared to kick out at Seagulls defender Adam El-Abd.
The Frenchman has now been charged with violent conduct and has until tomorrow evening to appeal against the charge.
The 26-year-old, who joined Newcastle last summer and has been one of their star performers, faces a three match ban if he does not appeal.
If he does appeal and he loses his case he could face a stiffer penalty.
The midfielder would miss Newcastle's trip to Blackburn if he does not appeal, plus the home game with Aston Vill and the trip to Tottenham.
