Capello in showdown talks
Wednesday, 08/02/2012
England boss Fabio Capello is due to meet FA chiefs today over the John Terry affair.
The coach's job could be on the line unless he apologises for his public outburst against the FA's decision to axe Terry as captain because of his pending court case.
Capello will be told that he could be in breach of his contract for questioning their decision.
The Italian has stated that he would not have stripped Chelsea's Terry of the armband on the basis of innocent until proven guilty.
Terry is set to face a racial abuse charge after the finals of Euro 2012. He is to deny the accusation in court.
FA chiefs are furios that Capello gave his views on Italian television without them even being told that he was being interviewed.
Capello, 65, is likely to stand firm when questioned about what he said to the cameras and that could lead to a difficult situation.
If he is proved to have breached his contract by making the comments in the interview he could be relieved of his post and would not be entitled to compensation.
The manager is set to leave his post after Euro 2012.
