Celtic’s Bellamy bid
Thursday, 12/08/2010
Neil Lennon has confirmed that he has approached Man City regarding a potential loan deal for Craig Bellamy.
Bellamy spent five months on loan with the SPL giants in 2005, after falling out of favour at Newcastle.
Despite impressing last year in his first full season with City, grabbing 13 goals, Bellamy has fallen foul of the club's big spending.
With David Silva, James Milner and Mario Balotelli all operating in similar positions to the Wales captain, he has admitted publicly that he fears for his future on Eastlands.
With the chances of him making Roberto Mancini's 25-man Premier League squad looking slim, a return north could be just the ticket for Bellamy.
He was excluded from the club's Europa League squad for tonight's game, even though there were two more spaces, fueling speculation that his departure is imminent.
City would prefer to sell Bellamy and the 31-year-old would generate interest south of the border, too.
Nedum Onuoha has already joined Sunderland on a season-long loan, as Mancini begins to trim his squad.
