Chelsea line up Villas-Boas
Monday, 20/06/2011
Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas looks set to join Chelsea.
The 33-year-old gaffer is rated as one of Europe's most promising gaffers having learnt his trade from Sir Bobby Robson and Jose Mourinho.
Boas celebrated last season with a clean sweep of trophies for Porto, winning the Portuguese league and cup double, Portugal Super Cup and the Europa League
When he took over at Porto the team had failed to qualify for the Champions’ League for the first time in ten years, finished third in the league, had sold key players and were in debt.
A year after he took control, Porto had a record points tally for a domestic campaign, the highest number of consecutive league wins, an unbeaten league season; and a massive plus goal difference.
Porto would expect a big compensation package for their boss. And Chelsea may still bring on board Guus Hiddink in a Director of Football style role.
