Chelsea’s double

Newly crowned Premier League champions Chelsea completed the double by beating Portsmouth 1-0 in the FA Cup Final.

Didier Drogba scored his seventh cup final goal for the club to clinch victory in the 59th minute. His free-kick hit the post and went in past David James.

But just minutes earlier Kevin-Prince Boateng had a spot-kick save for Pompey by Petr Cech. And just two minutes from the end Frank Lampard became the first player to miss an FA Cup Final goal at Wembley when he blased his spot-kick past the post after he had been up-ended in the box by Michael Brown.

In the first-half Chelsea had rattled the bar and post a staggering five times and Salomon Kalou missed a totally open goal from just a few yards out.

* Dundee United won the Scottish FA Cup 3-0 against Ross County thanks two goals from Craig Conway (75 and 86) and one from David Goodwillie (61).
