City are record losers
Saturday, 19/11/2011
Manchester City lost a staggering £195m last season - a new British record.
And it could have been a lot worse for the Premier League leaders because that figure did not include the purchase of Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri and Stefan Savic, a total of around £77m!
Amazingly, the loss is despite TV income of £69m and the fact the team won the FA Cup and finished third in the League.
The previous worse loss was the £141m recorded by Chelsea six years ago.
Yet financial experts reckon City are now on course to pull back their deficits depite their big transfer spending and huge outlay on wages.
Under UEFA's new Financial Fair Play regulatations clubs must now show that they have better control of their financial outlays, which basically say they must not spend beyond their means.
