City’s Aguero bid

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has given the strongest hint yet that he is ready to bid for striker Sergio Aguero.

The Argentina hitman is wanted to replace want-away Carlos Tevez, his international team-mate.

Aguero has admitted that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid and that has reignited City's interest, along with Real Madrid and Juventus.

The 23-year-old is expected to cost around £40m - the same amount that has been reportedly offered by Corinthians to take Tevez back to South America.

Mancini hinted that a bid could be coming "in the next days".

Aguero, who has been at Atletico for five years, is married to Diego Maradona's daughter and is a regular for his country.
