Gael Clichy could be set for a shock move to Manchester City.

The £7m-rated Arsenal full-back had been strongly linked with a transfer to Liverpool but it now looks as though City are set to enter the bidding.

There are also suggestions that he could be followed up the M6 by fellow Frenchman and Gunners team-mate Samir Nasri.

Nasri has been linked all summer with Manchester United but they now face a challenge from their city rivals.

Clichy, 25, has been at Arsenal for almost eight years and is out of contract at the end of next season.

Nasri, 24, who joined Arsenal three years ago, is rated at around £20m and is also out of contract in 2012.

The good news for Gunners fans is that Ivory Coast striker Gervinho looks set to finally sign on at the Emirates Stadium when he returns from holiday this week.

It is understood that he only has to agree final details of his contract before making the move from Lille.
