Cole set for move

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole looks set to stay in France on a permanent deal with Lille.

The former England star has won rave reviews since moving over the Channel on loan last summer.

And now the Lique 1 side are thought to be preparing a bid to keep the player.

Cole arrived at Anfield 18 months ago but failed to get a regular starting spot. He has now played 21 games for Lille and proved a very influential player.

Lille coach Rudi Garcia has now admitted: “Of course I would like to keep Joe Cole at the club next season.

“His team-mates really appreciate him. He has the virtue of being a hard worker – he goes flat out all the time."

Cole has already said he loves life in France, appreciates the food - and has got used to driving on the right hand side of the road!

The former West Ham and Chelsea star has been watched by England scouts and hopes to win at place at Euro 2012.
