Cole targets England return

On-loan Lille midfielder, Joe Cole, is targeting a return to the England setup after joining the French club from Liverpool last month.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder has joined the Ligue 1 champions until the end of the season and will be eager to recapture his form after a frustrating campaign at Anfield.

Cole joined The Reds on a free transfer from Chelsea in July 2010 but only made nine first team starts last season, as he struggled with injuries.

He has earned 56 caps for the Three Lions to date, with his last appearance coming in the 2010 World Cup second round defeat to Germany in South Africa.
Cole explained his remaining international ambitions.

"I've won everything in England and had a successful career. In ten games I'll be back playing my best football and I see no reason why I won't get back in the England team."
