Donovan back at Everton

Landon Donovan is returning to Everton on loan.

The Toffees thought they had missed out on the USA striker who had a big impact during a loan at Goodison Park in 2010.

But the 29-year-old team-mate of David Beckham at LA Galaxy has agreed to join the Merseysiders for January and February.

Donovan said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Everton in 2010 and I'm hopeful that we can experience similar success this time around."

Boss David Moyes was delighted to get his man and added: ""He did well for us when he was over two years ago and hopefully will return with those same qualities."

Donovan's last game in a blue shirt could be against Liverpool at Anfield at the end of February.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ross Barkley, 18, has signed a deal with the club until 2016.

Everton tied down the youngster after both Manchester sides and Chelsea were reported as keeping a watch on him.
