England striker’s new deal
Friday, 11/11/2011
England new boy Daniel Sturridge is set for a bumper new deal with Chelsea.
The Blues striker got his first senior Three Lions call-up this week and is in talks about a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Sturridge, 22, is set to get a five-year deal which could see him boost his pay packet by around 50 per cent and take him among the top earners at the club.
The former Man City forward failed to make an immediate impact after signing for Chelsea but boosted his game with a loan spell to Bolton last season.
New Bridge boss Andre Villas-Boas has also shown confidence in the youngster who has hit the goal trail and now established his career with the West Londoners.
