England’s World Cup challenge

Fabio Capello’s England face USA, Algeria and Slovenia in the World Cup finals.
England will play USA first –and near their expected training camp in Rustenburg on June 12
Their second match will be against Algeria on June 18 in Cape Town and they face Slovenia on June 23 in Port Elizabeth.
If England win their group they will meet the team who are second in Group D, which includes Germany, Australia, Ghana and Serbia. If they are second they would play the group winner.
Former England captain David Beckham said: “It is an interesting group but they are all hard games when you get to this point.”
The opening match of the tournament is South Africa v Mexico on June 11.
Some 853 matches were played during the qualifiers, yielding 2,000 goals.
