Everton in for Gibson

Everton are trying to buy Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson.

The 24-year-old is wanted by Goodison Park boss David Moyes – and the player could move for regular football in a bid to boost his chances of going to Euro 2012 with the Republic of Ireland.

Gibson is valued at around £2m. He was set to join Sunderland during the summer but the moved fell through when he couldn't agree personal terms.

He has made just 60 career appearances for United since singing for them in 2004 and has spent time out on loan to Royal Antwerp and Wolves.
