Foster for City
Wednesday, 19/05/2010
Manchester United keeper Ben Foster has agreed a three-year deal with Birmingham City.
He had been under contract at Old Trafford to 2013 but has failed to establish himself as a regular back up to first-choice Edwin van der Sar.
A fee for the England international, 27, has not been revealed but is believed to be around £4m, with more payments depending on appearances for club and country.
Foster joined United from Stoke in 2005. He had hoped to be part of England’s World Cup plans but was not in Fabio Capello’s initial 30-man squad.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has said that England Under-21 keeper Ben Amos will be in his first-team squad next season.
