Friday, 10/02/2012
Ryan Giggs has signed another one-year extension to his contract with Manchester United.
The former Wales winger will now play for an amazing 22nd season with the Old Trafford side.
Giggs, now 38, has won a record 12 Premier League titles with the Red Devils and reckons he can still add to his incredible haul of silverware.
But the midfielder admits that even he can't believe how long his incredible career has continued under boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
"When I signed my first contract, I never thought I'd be able to play at United for 22 years but I feel good and I know I can still contribute to keeping the team pushing for honours," said Giggs who made his United debut in 1991.
The Welshman has also lifted four FA Cups, three League Cups, two European Cups, a Super Cup, an Intercontinental Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Sir Alex added: "Ryan is a marvellous player. In every training session and match, he is the example for others to follow. The young players in the dressing room have a great chance to learn from a player who will continue to break records that anyone in the game will find hard to beat."
He is United's record apperance holder with almost 900 games under his belt and won 64 caps for Wales before calling time on his international career in 2007.
