Going to the dogs!

Going to the dogs!

Tuesday, 07/02/2012

After the cat that held up play at Anfield last night there's now a whole host of bets on which will be the next animal to stop a Premier League game.

Favourite to be a show stopper is a dog - but bookies William Hill will give you 1,000-1 on a crocodile stopping players in their tracks.

Following the goal less draw between Liverpool and Tottenham, Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "The Anfield Cat was definitely the most interesting aspect of a very mundane goalless draw so we are inviting to punters to speculate on the creature involved next time it happens."

Birds don't count - nor do those furry animal mascots, but the rest of the odds are:
Dog 6/4
Fox 5/2
Cat 5/1
Squirrel 7/1
Rabbit/Hare 8/1
Rat 12/1
Horse 25/1
Duck 33/1
Sheep 50/1
Deer 66/1
Mole 100/1
Snake 200/1
Crocodile 1000/1
Big cat (Lion/Tiger/Puma etc) 1000/1

We also reckon you won't get a bet on Sunderland's Lee Catermole, Newcastle's James Perch, David Fox of Norwich, Chelsea's Ross Turnbull and definitely not Villa's Charles N'Dogbia...
