Hughes gets QPR job
Tuesday, 10/01/2012
Mark Hughes is the new manager of QPR.
He has agreed a two and a half year deal at Loftus Road and takes over from Neil Warnock who was sacked at the weekend.
Former Manchester United forward Sparky, 48, inherits a team sitting in a dangerous position just above the relegation zone.
And he is likely to move fast to bring in new players – with Blackburn defender Christopher Samba and Fulham striker Andy Johnson likely targets.
His January transfer kitty could be anything from £8m to £20m with Rangers' owners keen to keep their newly promoted side in the Premier League.
Hughes, who has already managed Wales, Blackburn and Manchester City, left the Fulham hot seat last June, saying he was leaving the club as he was ambitious.
As a player, Hughes had two spells at Manchester United and also played for Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and Blackburn.
