Keane joins Beckham

Record-breaking Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane has joined LA Galaxy.

He has left Tottenham for a fee in the region of £3m to line up behind the former England captain.

Keane, 31, said: "I have always wanted to come and play in MLS so it's the perfect combination for me and a dream come true."

The former Leeds hitman has found himself slipping down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and Spurs have been keen to get his high salary off their wage bill.

He spend part of last season on loan at West Ham with a view to a permanent transfer if the Hammers had stayed in the Premier League.
