Liverpool head to Wembley

Liverpool will meet Cardiff City in the League Cup Final at Wembley on February 26.

The Reds drew 2-2 with Manchester City at Anfield to win their two-legged semi-final 3-2.

Craig Bellamy scored the vital equaliser on the night against his former club to set up the final against his home town side who he played for last year.

The Wales striker turned in a Man of the Match performance as Kenny Dalglish's men earned their first trip to Wembley since 1996 and their first visit to the new stadium.

Liverpool went into the game 1-0 up thanks to Steven Gerrard's penalty at the Etihad Stadium but Nigel de Jong brought City level after 31 minutes

Gerrard struck again from the penalty spot just ten minutes later before Edin Dzeko prodded home a second goal for the visitors after 67 minutes.

Just when it looked like City would could get through to the final Bellamy picked up a Glen Johnson pass and slotted the ball passed keeper Joe Hart who had earlier pulled off a number of great saves.
