Premier League leaders Manchester City face more problems over troublesome striker Carlos Tevez.

The Argentinian's escape route to AC Milan has been blocked after Etihad officials blocked a loan move to Italy.

City have turned down the option of loaning the striker to the San Siro with the view to a permanent move in the summer as they favour an immediate cash sale.

It is understood Milan offered to pay around £19m next summer. City paid around £25m for the striker two years ago.

It is now almost three months since Tevez played his last game for City after allegedly refusing to take to the pitch as a sub in the Champions League.

For the past few weeks he has been absent without leave in his homeland.

Boss Roberto Mancini has virutally shut the door on his frontman after initially suggesting he would be welcomed back into the fold if he apologised.

Suggestions that Paris Saint Germain could be interested in the player appear unfounded and he may have to look to a move to Russia.
