Nasri heads north

Samir Nasri is expected to sign for Manchester City later today.

The Arsenal midfielder is expected to agree a four-year deal at the Etihad Stadium.

A fee of £25m is thought to be agreed for the Frenchman who becomes the second major player to leave the Gunners this week following Cesc Fabregas joining Barcelona.

Emmanuel Eboue has also left the club for Galatasaray.

Nasri, 24, arrived at Arsenal three years ago from Marseille and has blossomed in that time. He had one year left to run on his current deal and had refused a new contract.

Arsenal faced losing the player for nothing if he had stayed in North London – and at one stage it looked like Gunners boss Arsene Wenger might have made Nasri play out those final months.
