Play on Becks!

Play on Becks!

Monday, 21/11/2011

David Beckham has been urged to play on after reaching the end of his LA Galaxy contract.

The former England skipper lifted the MLS Cup yesterday to maintain his record of winning silverware with every club team where he has played on a permanent deal.

He has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain which would give him the chance of winning trophies in yet another league.

But Beckham has stressed that his family are happy in Los Angeles and he has yet to make a decision.

But Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane, who joined Beckham at Galaxy during the summer, said: "We'd love him to stay, to play on, but you will have to ask David what he plans to do. You don't want to lose your best players."

LA boss Bruce Arena said Beckham has three options: stay at Galaxy, move, or retire.

Beckham, 36, is highly unlikely to retire as he has maintained his fitness and claims he is enjoying his football now as much as he did when he was 21.

He revealed that he even played in the MLS game with a torn hamstring - after claiming during the week that he had only been suffering from a cold.

Beckham has also won the title in England with Manchester United and in Spain with Real Madrid. He also played in Italy with AC Milan, but only on loan.
