Daniel Sturridge rescued Chelsea from FA Cup defeat and probably saved the job of his manager.

The England hopeful equalised against Birmingham City to make it 1-1 and earn a replay.

David Murphy had given the visitors to Stamford Bridge the lead after 20 minutes and Sturridge equalised on 62.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas knows his job could be on a knife edge –  and now the result of his side's Champions League tie against Napoli could be crucial to his survival.

Skipper John Terry is rated 50-50 to make the first leg of that game next week.
