Race on for Alex

Race on for Alex

Tuesday, 24/01/2012

Chelsea defender Alex has emerged as a target for Paris Saint Germain.

Former Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti is now in charge at the French side and wants to beat QPR in the race for the Brazlian.

The 29-year-old is believed to have had talks with QPR and a fee is thought to be on the table for the Blues centre back.

But the player has been reluctant to move to Loftus Road, probably because Rangers are involved in a potential relegation battle.

The arrival of new boss Mark Hughes could make Alex change his mind as he would like to stay in the Premier League.

But the chance to link up again with Ancelotti would also interest Alex.

Meanwhile, PSG have said they no longer have an interest in taking Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

With AC Milan also pulling out of the race, City may have to take a second look at the £21.5m bid on the table from Inter Milan for the Argentina frontman.
