Rooney in for award
Thursday, 15/04/2010
Wayne Rooney will be favourite to land the PFA Player of the Year Award at the weekend following the release of the shortlisted candidates.
The England and Manchester United striker has had a fantastic season following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford.
But his rivals for the prestigious award have also had great campaigns - Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez.
Rooney and Fabregas are also in the running for the Young Player of the Award along with Aston Villa’s non-stop midfielder James Milner and Man City keeper Joe Hart.
