Samir set for City

Manchester City have agreed terms with Arsenal for the much-protracted transfer of French midfielder Samir Nasri in a reported £25m deal.

The 24-year-old trained with Arsenal this morning ahead of the Gunner’s Champions League qualifier against Udinese on Wednesday, but will no longer be part of the matchday squad.

Able to play as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, Nasri joined Arsenal from French club Marseille in 2008. He enjoyed one of his most prolific campaigns at the Emirates last season scoring 15 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions, and will add to the wealth of attacking options at Roberto Mancini’s disposal at the Etihad Stadium.

Nasri will now travel to Manchester to finalise a deal and will be available for City’s Champions League campaign.
