Scotland boss sacked
Monday, 16/11/2009
Scotland boss George Burley has been sacked following the team's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Wales last weekend.
Three wins in 14 games and failure to qualify for the World Cup finals led to SFA officials discussing Burley's job earlier today. Burley, who took over in January 2008, has also managed Ayr, Hearts, Ipswich, Derby and Southampton.
Meanwhile, former Scotland boss Craig Brown has said any manager must be given time to prove his worth. Former Liverpool, Blackburn and Rangers boss Graeme Souness has totally ruled himself out of the job, saying he has no interest in taking over his country's national side. Rangers boss Walter Smith has been linked to the post.

Burley should have gone after the last game. Still I’m glad he’s gone but 3-0 Wales was a bad result. Not sure who can replace him but I’d go for George Graham.
