Tottenham stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale are going nowhere during the transfer window, according to boss Harry Redknapp.

The Tottenham gaffer managed to fight off Chelsea bids for midfielder Modric over the summer and knows that Wales winger Bale interests Barcelona.

But Redknapp defiantly said: "No way on earth will they be for sale - not a chance."

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said earlier in the week that neither player would be up for grabs next month.

With Spurs firmly in the Premier League title race club officials will fight tooth and nail to hang on to two of their prized assets.

But they are likely to face massive bids for Croatian Modric, subject of a £40m earlier in the year.

And Barcelona will not accept defeat without a big fight if they really do want Bale.
