Stoke to sign England striker

Stoke have agreed a fee of around £6m to sign striker Carlton Cole from West Ham.

The Hammers last week refused the Potters first offer for the former Chelsea forward.

But now the fee has been agreed and it is down to the player and Stoke to agree terms.

Cole, 27, has been at Upton Park since summer 2006 and has scored 42 goals in 140 appearances.

Meanwhile, Cole's replacement could be Blackpool striker DJ Campbell. The frontman is also wanted by QPR but is understood to be in talks with the Hammers.
