Terrry England fear

Wednesday, 22/02/2012

John Terry has added to Chelsea woes with news that he faces a knee operation.

The Stamford Bridge captain could be out for up to eight weeks – raising fears that he could miss the rest of the season and even Euro 2012.

Terry, 31, who recently lost the England captain's armband, has been out of action since the start of January.

He now faces six to eight weeks on the sidelines, depening on how his operation goes.

Under-pressure Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas says his key man could be back earlier if things go well, but he knows that six weeks would still be a remarkable return.

Terry does have a history of returning fast from injuries but this one could keep him out until at least the middle of April.
