Tevez set for return
Wednesday, 22/02/2012
Carlos Tevez could be set for a shock return to the Manchester City ranks after finally apologising for his recent disappearance.
The Argentina striker has said sorry for walking out on the club after the row involving his refusal to take to the pitch for a Champions League game.
Tevez, missing for three months, said: "I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions have caused offence.
"My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City Football Club," he added.
The former captain has also withdrawn his appeal against a misconduct charge over the problems which have cost him more than £10m in lost wages and bonuses.
Tevez has returned to the club remarkably fit and could be called on if needed.
City have missed his goal scoring prowess and could do with his abilities if they want to capture the Premier League title.
It will now be up to City boss Roberto Mancini to decide if Tevez has apologised enough to win a recall to the team.
Fans are still split over whether he should return to the fold or be frozen out until he can be transferred in the summer.
A number will be happier now that he has apologised and know that he could be the difference between City winning the title or being overhauled by neighbours United.
