Didier Drogba has been named African Player of the Year for a second time.

The Ivory Coast striker was voted the contintent's top Drog for 2009 to add to the award he also lifted in 2006.

Chelsea's battling forward saw off the challenge of club team-mate Michael Essien of Ghana and Cameroon's Inter Milan forward Samuel Eto'o to get his prize.

Ghana's Dominic Adiyiah was named Africa's Young Player of the Year. Algeria, England's World Cup group opponents, were voted African Team of the Year.
