United boost

Manchester United and England are set for a major boost with the return of Owen Hargreaves.

The midfielder is expected to play some part in United's game against West Brom this weekend after more than two years out with injury problems.

Hargreaves had operations on both knees two years ago and was expected back in action at the start of this season. But the 29-year-old suffered a major set-back and has had to sit out the first few months of the campaign.

If Hargreaves can get back to his previous form it will be a massive lift for struggling United - and could prove a lifesaver too for England boss Fabio Capello.

It had been feared that Hargreaves, 30 in January, might not return from the inyury - or that he could fail to earn a new contract at Old Trafford.
